The reception was held at the Inn on Lake Waramaug. There were hors d'oeuvres in the living room for about 45 minutes after the ceremony, followed by dinner in the Inn's smaller dining room.

When Jim and I entered the Inn's living room, the musicians had started playing again and everyone was munching on the hors d'oeuvres. After greeting many of our guests, we sat down on the couch with some munchies of our own and were promptly reminded by Tiffany's uncle Paul that this was our first time sitting down together as a married couple.

Soon, it was time for dinner. We led the way into the dining room, which looked stunning with floating flowers, glowing votive candles, ivy, and tea roses on every table. Everyone sat down, and our parents made some very sweet toasts. Dinner was delicious. Jim and I listened to the beautiful music of the classical trio, watched our wonderful guests, and simply took in the happy results of all our planning.

After dinner, as we were preparing to cut the cake, I asked Lisa, our wedding coordinator, how we should cut it. She laughed and said, "What, you've never cut a wedding cake before?" Clearly, we were novices, but we managed to cut an incredibly mangled slice and feed each other a bite.

After cake and coffee, we circulated and visited with each table. Things started winding down, and people began to say goodbye and head off to their rooms. The photographer and musicians had gone home, and we were left with a very small group. As the night came to a close, Jim's cousin Caleb went over to the piano and started playing. There was a wonderful moment of piano mixed with the realization that the wedding was over and everything had turned out so well.
