Our Experience
We wanted to give our guests
something, as is the tradition in our area, but we didn't want to do
the typical Jordan almonds. We thought about a non-edible momento of
some sort, but everything was either too expensive or something we
felt they'd just throw away. So we opted for something edible. We
considered some very cute bride and groom cookies we'd seen, but they
seemed a little too silly for our elegant reception, so we went with
chocolates.
We ended up choosing Godiva chocolates because they were so
beautifully packaged, seemed very fancy, and tasted delicious. Each
one was a small rectangular gold box wrapped and tied with white
ribbon, and a white silk rosebud on top. Inside, there were two hearts
(we liked the symbolism of that also), one dark chocolate and one milk
chocolate, filled with a yummy chocolate mousse. One of the definite
perks of having so few guests is being able to afford things like
Godiva favors -- for 100 guests, they would have been way out of our
price range, but for 30 we thought it was pretty reasonable.
