About Us

Carol Helen Nowak

  • Born September 4, 1947 to John Anthony Nowak and Helen Barbara Trusczkowski, of Polish and German heritage.
  • Raised in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
  • Religious affiliation: Catholic.
  • Graduated from Nativity of Our Lord High School in June 1965.
  • Never married or had children.
  • Parents deceased (father: January 10, 1968; mother: September 21, 1978).
  • On August 15, 1987, I discovered I was adopted...a long story I will fill in at a later date.
  • Current Employment: Waitress at Heinzeman's Heidelburg in Clinton Township, Macomb County, Michigan.
  • Current Residence: Roseville, Macomb County, MI
  • Hobbies and Interests: Genealogy (researching ones family roots), avid fan of the past. Belong to a Civilian Civil War Reenactor Group, or "Living History," as it is better known. Have fascination with the time period from the 1860s to 1912 (Civil War to the time of the Titanic), particularly the clothing, style of music, and treating a lady like a "lady."
  • My adoptive parents were born in 1901 and 1903 so I was really raised with old-fashioned principles.
  • Love the water, horseback riding, my cat, quiet evenings at home and ... oops, almost forgot my main love in life, my fiancé Dan (just joking, Dan).

Daniel Joseph Bogan

  • Born June 19, 1947 in Detroit, Wayne County, MI to Robert Bogan and Josephine Reardon, of Irish and German heritage.
  • Dan's father died on January 21, 1986. Mom still living.
  • Raised Catholic.
  • Graduated from Roseville High School in June 1966.
  • Drafted in the Army in November 1966 and given Honorable Discharge in November 1968 (Vietnam War Veteran) with rank of E-4 3rd Cavalry Battery Commander.
  • Was previously married and has one daughter, Kathleen, who married Patrick Wunderach in April 1996. (Kathleen will be standing up in our wedding.)
  • Current Employment: Sheet Metalist
  • Hobbies and Interests:  Riding his horse "Gunner" on weekends. Civil War Reenactor with the Michigan Brigade of Cavalry. He also loves family history and had a Great-Great-Uncle, Cornelius Bogan, who was in the 7th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry in the Civil War under the command of George Armstrong Custer, and a Great-Great-Grandfather, Adam Steffes (Dan's mom's side), who was in the 16th MI volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. Likes quiet evenings at home with us together (since we are both on opposite work schedules for now, we're like "two ships passing in the night").
